The 2024 E-Ray is Chevrolet’s first electrified Corvette with all-wheel-drive and a powerful 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, exactly 70 years after the Corvette debuted at Motorama. The new E-Ray Corvette delivers intense straight-line performance, all-weather confidence, and sure-footed grand touring capabilities, regardless of the season. It comes in removable roof coupes and hardtop convertibles.
The E-Ray is also the only sports car combining naturally aspirated V-8 power with electrified responsiveness powered by eAWD. A 2.5-second 0-60 mph time1 and 10.5-second quarter-mile time make the E-Ray the fastest production Corvette in history. The E-Ray delivers plenty of low-end torque, which is core to the Corvette driving experience. 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque are delivered to the rear axle by the 6.2L Small Block V-8. A 1.9 kWh battery pack located between the seats provides 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque via an electric motor. With the electric motor and Small Block V-8 combined, the E-Ray produces 655 horsepower.
E-Ray’s intelligent eAWD system continuously learns the surface of the road, adapting seamlessly to meet the traction conditions and the driver’s needs. In spirited driving and low-traction environments, E-Ray’s eAWD system applies additional power to the front wheels, enhancing vehicle stability. The battery system of the E-Ray does not require plug-in charging. In addition to regenerating energy from coasting and braking, the battery is also charged during normal driving.
There are several additional features and technologies on the all-new E-Ray, including stealth mode, electric drive up to 45 mph, a lightweight lithium-ion 12-volt battery, stop/start functionality for the LT2 V-8 engine, a Brembo Carbon Ceramic brake system, Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 with three suspension settings, and staggered 20- and 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires. An optional performance package is available for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires. It has a wide stance and is 3.6 inches wider than a Stingray.
It is a visceral sound experience that conveys the car’s dominating presence. An invigorating sound is produced by the electric front motor working in harmony with the LT2 engine. An enhanced roster of driver assistance technologies (shared with all 2024 Corvette models), including Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking.
With its electrified propulsion system, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray seamlessly powers out of corners and completes passing maneuvers with ease. Upon startup, it can also provide limited all-electric propulsion. Active Fuel Management extends 4-cylinder operation in various driving scenarios with E-Ray’s electric motor. The Corvette E-Ray has six driver-selectable modes: Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, My Mode, and Z-Mode. The Charge+ feature allows drivers to maximize the battery’s charge state.
All-electric driving is available when Stealth Mode is selected at startup, before the engine is turned on for normal driving. Designed for quiet exits from neighborhoods, it has a maximum speed of 45 mph. Whenever speed is exceeded, additional torque is requested by the driver, or the E-Ray’s battery pack is depleted, the engine engages automatically.
A torque-adjustable front axle control system optimizes track performance. Extended laps are possible with Charge+. With eAWD propulsion, Performance Traction Management (PTM) modes are optimized. The E-Ray builds on the familiar athletic styling and performance-driven design of Corvettes. The E-Ray shares the Z06’s wide body proportions, allowing for wider wheels that help manage the car’s torque. E-Ray’s lightweight alloy wheels have five-spoke star designs.
