SolarPuff is a revolutionary lamp presenting a new way to light up our world. It is beautiful, mobile, modern and sustainable lighting, using the limitless power of the sun. Solight Designs has come up with some light weight, compact, well designed and more importantly sustainable home lighting solutions that will immediately appeal to the environmentally conscious consumer while even providing light to those in need.
The SolarPuff is a little flat pack, inflatable lantern designed with high performance fabric that is specially engineered for durability, flexibility and it is waterproof and floats as well. The lamp is highly adaptable and originally developed for emergency relief after the Haiti earthquake.
This superior solar light is ideal for home gardens, pools, boating enthusiasts, outdoor camping and hiking. What makes the SolarPuff effective in an emergency or disaster relief is that it auto inflates without using a mouth or pump. Its light weight design makes for lower shipping costs, and the high tech fabric creates an all-round dispersion of light.
The SolarPuff uses ten bright LEDS and with an 8 hour charge in the sun can provide 8 to12 hours of light. The lamp has three settings low, high, and blinking or distress signal mode and measures 4.3” inch cube when popped open. This little lamp flat packs to 0.25 inches and can fit in any back pocket. It boasts 90 lumens and can fully charge in the sun in 8 hours and lasts for 8-12 hours of light. If you only get to charge it for 5 hours, it will still last for 5-8 hours of light. The circuit contains a photovoltaic Origami Technology and comes with a one-year warranty.
Alongside the SolarPuff, the company has also introduced Helix which twists open into a 4.25 inch square. It can fit into a pant or coat pocket. The Helix is made from recyclable TPU, an eco-friendly thermoplastic that has a unique memory for shape retention. A slight push will start the deflation process in motion and it will remember to flat pack back to a square. The light is more uniform than the SolarPuff since the SolarPuff emits a patterned design.
Based on research, if everyone in the United States used a SolarPuff for one hour a day instead of a regular light bulb, it would save over eleven billion tons of CO2 emissions from going into the air each year. It is shocking that even today 1.6 billion people do not have access to safe and sustainable light and rely on kerosene to light their world at night. The absence of light has had catastrophic effects on our local and global environment. Sales of SolarPuff further the social mission to distribute light in third world and underdeveloped regions, where the vulnerable live without light. When a customer buys a SolarPuff at $30.00, it allows Solight Designs to subsidize a SolarPuff to someone in the developing region.
